The Problem With Gold, The Story of Uncle Bob
You've probably heard the advice: "Buy gold or silver. Protect yourself." But what does that actually look like in practice?
Say you decide to buy physical gold for a rainy day. You head to Uncle Bob's coin shop — he gives you the best family rate, but he's still a middleman, and middlemen have overhead. You pay a premium, take your coins home, hide them under a floorboard, and bask in your security.
Then the rainy day arrives.
